Celebrating International Women's Day 2025
The Poetry Place held Feminine Flowz to celebrate International Women’s Day – co-hosted by Griot Gabriel and the phenom PA Bitez!
Bolstered by a captivating all-women line-up headlined by the Jay Mitra – plus featured poets Lol, Lisa Moore and Janel Antoneshia and open mic poets, the event was a spectacular honouring of women’s voices.

In early June, as part of the Manchester City of Literature Festival of Libraries, Manchester's 2024 Slam-o-Vision Champion Griot Gabriel sat and discussed excerpts from the encapsulating book Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak and Dogs by Jordan Stephens. it proved to be a very deep conversation, with Jordan opening up on his journey of masculinity, childhood, relationships and current musical endeavours.
Valentines Day 25 - 'Love is' 2.0
The Poetry Place hosted its second 'Love is' event on Valentines Day in the sublime and packed out Impossible Bar venue in Deansgate. Our expertly selected Poets (Griot Gabriel, Caesar, Naami, Sophia Khokhar, David Okodeh, Fauzia) weaved words of intimacy, to celebrate love in its many forms.

TPP hosted a poetry slam in celebration of its 3rd year anniversary. Headlined by the phenom PA Bitez, the evening saw 10 poets use 3 minutes to deliver their most enthralling poetry to impress the 5 industry expert judges. Congratulations to the inspiring David Okodeh, who left with the Championship belt and the £100 cash prize!

The Poetry Place to perform at Manchester Science and Industry Festival on 19th October 2024
We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Science and Industry Museum, as we will be performing poetry themed on A.I. in Space as part of Manchester Science festival.
The festival will host a Cosmic Quiz, were 3 poets (Griot Gabriel, Caesar and Dear Ilaf, (the winner of our call out competition) will each perform a poem. One of our poets has used an A.I. programme to create their poem and it will be up to the audience to guess which poet it is!
It is guaranteed to be a fun evening, with lots of other cool acitvities through the 9-day festival.
